Right now, I’m watching two quality cosplayers getting attacked by people who are criticizing them. Not for their cosplay, but because of their body type.
This is why some people fear so much to dress up as their favorite characters. Well made costumes are stowed away for fear of getting talked shit upon merely for not having “the correct figure”.
Guys, the hate needs to stop.
Whether you’re thin, or bigger, short, or tall, cosplay is a /hobby/. A hobby that many people partake in because it is fun, challenging, and exciting. People can do it to have fun with their friends, and to show their love for a certain show, anime, comic, or game.
Even if you do not like a person’s shape for a certain character, you must not be rude and put them down. That is the worst thing you can do! Not only are you demeaning their figure, but also taking away their self esteem.
Those cosplays may end up hanged to accumulate dust.
Stop the hate. If you want to critique a cosplay, for the love of god, critique the cosplay, not the cosplayer.People come in all shapes and sizes. That is what makes us special, and unique.
Remember that.
